Larry Wilson - Chief County Assessor

Chief County Assessment Office

- From your Chief County Assessor -

Welcome:

As the Chief County Assessment Officer for Rock Island County, also known as the Supervisor of Assessments, I want you to know that we continue to work hard to improve the overall administration of the assessor's office. We have a loyal and knowledgeable staff that are here to assist you.

I would like to thank the Rock Island County Board for allowing me this challenging and rewarding opportunity to lead the Chief County Assessment Office in its mission of public service. I look forward to any comments or suggestions that will allow us to continue to improve customer service and responsiveness.

If you should have any questions, you may call or write the Chief County Assessment Office or contact your township assessor.

Sincerely,

Larry A. Wilson

Chief County Assessor - Announcements

  • Township Assessors are now reviewing assessments for 2010. Visit your township assessor if you have any questions about the value of your property.
  • On September 15, 2009, the Rock Island County Board passed Resolution 2009-0917 which eliminates the need for citizens age 65 or older to reapply annually for the Senior Homestead Exemption. This Resolution takes effect beginning with the January 1, 2010 assessment year. You will still need to make an original application for the Senior Homestead Exemption during the year in which you turn 65 years of age. If your annual income is $55,000 or less, you will need to make an annual application for the Senior Freeze Homestead Exemption. If you have received this Freeze Exemption the previous year, you will be mailed a new application for the 2010 assessment year. If you did not receive the Senior Freeze Homestead Exemption in the previous year, you will need to come into our office to make an application. Please bring your 2009 Federal Income Tax return with you when applying for this Exemption. Applications can also be made at your local Township Assessor’s office. For further information, feel free to contact your Rock Island County Assessment office at 309-558-3650.
